Overseas Student Dormitory Management Regulations
(Supplementary Provisions)


I. Students who have dormitories shall pay for the boarding fee and the cash pledge of public property (200 yuan), and fill in the accomodation registration form, the lodging card, and file form with the receipt of tuition, boarding fee, and cash pledge of public property at the dorm supervisor office. Students shall use the assigned dormitories and beds. During the stay, students cannot change their dormitories or beds on their own. If students have special reasons of chaning dormitories or beds, they shall apply to the dorm management of International Cooperation and Exchange Office. They can change their dorms or beds with the permission of dorm managment.
II. Students cannot keep outsiders in their dorms. If there are special circumstances, students can temporarily (within two days) keep people not from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute (immediate relatives of the same gender) with the permission of students in the same dorm. After the permission of dorm surpervisors, the accomodated people shall go through relevant accomodation procedures and cancel the registration when they leave. Students who keep people not from JCI in their dorms shall have the joint and several liability of the losses of other students or public property and personal injuries caused by the accommodated people. According to the severity, students who keep outsiders in their dorms without permission will be criticized and educated or punished.
III. During the specified period, students who graduate or leave the school shall go through the acceptance check procedures of their dorms, including settling the boarding fee and the utility bill, checking the dorm public property, returning the dorm keys, leaving the dorms, and getting back the cash pledge with the lodging card and the receipt of the cash pledge. If there are public property damages for unnatural reasons, the responsible person shall have the liability for damage. The implementation refers to the attached documents. After the specified period, Student Dorm Service Department has the right to vacate the dorms without the acceptance chexk procedures. The students are responsible for the damages. According to the severity, students who do not follow the regulation with the education will be criticized and educated or punished.
 IV. When students move out of their dorms, they shall observe laws and disciplines and coordinate with dorm supervisors to check the public facilities and property. In the inside and outside of dorms, the graffiti, the burning of papers or other articles, and the damages of public facilities and property are forbidden.

Property Management


I. The school properties include dormitory buildings, doors and windows, glasses, locks, furnitures, phone (television) lines, air-conditioners (do not hang clothes on air-conditioners), electric water heaters, water and electricity facilities, firre-fighting equipment, and other facilities in the inside of dorms. These properties shall be properly used and maintained, and not be disassembled, changed, and adjusted without permission, and not be damaged on purpose. If the public properties are partly damaged for unnatural reasons, the responsible person shall bear 30% of maintenance costs, and if the public properties are completely damaged, the responsible person shall bear the corresponding compensation costs.

    II. The various furnitures and facilities cannot be moved out from the dorm building or changed among dorms without the permission of dorm surpervisors; The unequipped furnitures cannot be moved into the dorms, and the public properties in the dorms cannot be relocated when students changed their dorms in accordance with the regulations.
   III. If the public properties in the dorms are damaged, students shall immediately report it to dorm supervisors for repairs. If they are damaged for unnatural reasons, the responsible person shall compensate based on the above list; if the responsible person cannot be identified, the whole members of the dorm shall compensate together.
    IV. Before the accommodation, the public facilities and equipment in the inside of dorms shall be inspected. If there is incomplete equipment or damaged equipment, students shall immediately report it to dorm supervisors; if there is no report about it, it will be regarded as a man-made damage, and students shall compensate for it.
V. The habit of locking the door before leaving shall be developed, and personal belongings shall be safekept. For the large number of students and frequent visitors in the dorm buildings, valuables and large sums of cash shall not be kept in dorms, otherwise students are at their own risk. The Dorm Service Departent or dorm supervisors will not bear the property coverage. It is suggested that accommodated students purchase personal property insurance.
VI.  Save water, save electricity. If there are water and electricity facility damages, students shall immediately report it to dorm supervisors.   The benchmark system is used in electricity usage.  Currently, the electricity usage of each dorm in the overseas student building is 200 each quarter during the spring (from April to June) and the autumn (from October to December), and 280 each quarter during the winter (from January to March) and the summer (from July to September). The electricity usage beyond the benchmark will be paid according to the market price of the electricity.
