Government Scholarship Application Notes

　　Application materials:                                  

　　1) Application form;

　　2) Registration Form for Foreigners，Oversea Chinese and Residents From

Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan;

　　3) Resume and 10 one-inch recent bareheaded color photos;

　　4) Application letter (printed on A4 paper with hand-written signature);

　　5) When applying for the master’s programs, applicants should provide a

letter of recommendation by an associate professor or above. When applying for

master’s programs of art, applicants should also provide an album of artworks

of their own;

　　6) Two photocopies of academic certificate and transcripts respectively;

　　7) Four photocopies of passport and visa respectively;

　　8) International General Health Exam Report (venue: China Entry-Exit

Inspection and Quarantine Bureau);

　　9) Application and registration fee: CNY 500;

　　10) Comprehensive Insurance for Foreigners staying in China (JCI helps

foreign students take out the said insurance after their registration.）.

Premium:

　　Students who have not taken out Medical Insurance and Accident

　　Comprehensive Insurance for International Students in China before coming

　　to China should pay for the premium of the aforementioned insurances while

　　paying for their tuition and accommodation fee. The insurance premium

　　is calculated according to the length of students’ study period and the

　　premium rates of the insurance company when taking out the insurances.

Eligible Applicants:

　　Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree with excellent academic performance and the certificate of HSK level 3 or above (Those who have not met the requirement of language proficiency are required to take 1-2 year Chinese language courses. They should achieve HSK Level 3 or above prior to their academic study), applying for master’s programs (which start on September 2014) other than those of language or literature of their native country, English, French, or the language of a third country. (Undergraduate students graduated from worldly renowned universities or excellent students graduated from renowned universities are preferred.) Applicants should send their application materials before the above-mentioned deadline to our Institute (We only accept application materials in paper form which should arrive before the deadline.), and, at the same time, they should log onto the website of CHINA SCHOLARSHIP COUNCIL APPLICATION ONLINE (http://laihua. csc.edu.cn) to apply online.
