　　(Text/Intern Reporter Zhong Feiying, Lei Min; Photo/Intern Reporter Feng Ziqi, Xue Zhenyang) On the evening of November 13^th, Gao Hong, manager of educational joint program of De Montfort University, was invited to have an academic lecture in the Lecture Hall on the third floor of JCI library in Xianghu campus. Student representatives of School of Design and Art and School of Ceramics and Fine Arts attended the lecture.

　　In the lecture, Gao Hong displayed the charm of British culture through the works and achievements of Shakespeare. During the lifetime, Shakespeare created 38 plays, 155 sonnets, 2 long narrative poems, and other poems. Jonson, a playwriter of the same times, remarked that “he was not of an age, but for all time”.

　　Gao Hong also introduced De Montfort University. The university has School of Art Design and Humanities, School of Business Law, School of Health and Life Science, and School of Technology and Engineering. The university features art design and covers 170 courses including finance approved by international professional institutes. 70% to 75% Chinese overseas students can get second-level or first-level certificates. President Dominic Shellard is a leading scholar of Shakespeare study and post-war British play study and a well-known expert of the economic and social impact of British plays. In his view, “the essence of plays does not lie in the internal conflicts, but in the multiple contexts of plays. It is the multiple contexts of Shakespeare’s comedies that modern films and plays based on Shakespeare’s works can emerge in endlessly with the changes of different times”. At the end of the lecture, Gao Hong showed the audiences Shakespeare’s work “The Seven Ages of Man”.
